TYPE OF OIL PUMP FOR ENGLE W-90 CAM

Hi Don,
There are 2 different camshafts used in the VW motor. The “flat” camshaft refers to the center of the gear area that the cam gear attaches to the camshaft. The factory flat gear was held to the camshaft with 3 rivets. On the “Dished” camshafts, the center of the camshaft face is dished, and the cam gear is held to the camshaft with 4 rivets. This dish allowed for a deeper oil pump.
All Engle Camshafts are flat-style and use 3 bolts (not rivets) to hold the gear to the camshaft.
Thanks, Andy
