Disc brakes for different tire sizes

I have 14″ wheels in the front and 15″ in the back. I want to convert from drum to disc, but I don’t see any kits that work for 14″ front wheels.

Does it make sense to just convert the rear to disc? If so, are the following parts the ones you would recommend?PN113698601 – Conversion kit. PN113611020BAD Master cylinder. PN113611764B brake lines (x2)

Hi Kraig,

Thank you for your questions.  The simple answer is no on a disc brake kit that will work on 14” wheels.  The original wheel for the VW is a 15”.

Please keep in mind that the front brakes of any vehicle do 70% of the stopping.  Your best option is to replace the front with 15” wheels and add front disc brakes.

As for confirming info on the rear kit, I will need to have more info to help.  So Cal Imports is the parent company to AC Industries and we offer over 70 disc brake kits.

The best way on this would be to call in and talk with one of our helpful staff.
