Is it necessary  to bench bleed this first before installing?

Thank you for your question.

No, it is not necessary to bench bleed the master cylinder. I recommend following standard bleeding protocol. After installing the master cylinder, start with the bleeder that is furthest away and work your way to the closest to the master. Make sure to check your reservoir often so as not to run out of fluid! Hope this helps.
