Hi,
I was wondering if the following part number #498670CF will work with these spindles #415024?

Thank you!

Hi Seth,

First off, the kit number that you have asked about, #498670CF is for a 1965 and older link pin style front suspension, where your 1973 Beetle would have a ball joint style front suspension.

The #415024 lowered drum spindles is correct for your ’73 Bug, but there is no adapter bracket currently made to bolt to the spindle and mount the caliper. The holes are correct to mount our #113407425 brackets to the spindle, but the geometry is such that the spindle point is raised, which creates interference between the bracket/caliper and the spindle at the arm that the tie rod mounts to – we’d wouldn’t recommend this solution.

Your best option is to get a #498770CF kit, as it comes with the correct lowered disc brake spindles. If you already have a set of lowered drum brake spindles, there is always someone interested in buying these in the used market place.

Thanks,

Andy
