howdy how to know the difference between cams flat or dished?

Hi Gilbert,

To confirm whether you have a flat camshaft or a dished camshaft, inspect the cam gear.  If the motor is still together, you will need to remove the oil pump.  Once you can see the end of the camshaft, a flat cam will have three rivets or bolts holding the cam gear to the camshaft.  The dished camshaft will have four rivets holding the cam gear to the camshaft.
