The VW fuel tank sending float is usually to blame for your gas gauge to reading correctly or not working at all. The VW Fuel Tank Sending Float installs into the top opening of the fuel tank of 1973-1979 VW Bus models. The sending unit has an electrical connection that sends a resistance-grounded signal to the fuel gauge to provide the reading. Seal #113919133A is sold separately.
