This 4th gear was originally produced for the 1961-1967 Bus with gear reduction boxes. With the .82 ratio, it produces a 18% overdrive. Due to this overdrive, this is the 4th gear that transmission builders chose to install to make freeway flier transmissions! There are two styles of 4th gear, splined or keyed. The one you need to use will be determined by the pinion gear that is in your transmission. This part number is a splined style. So Cal Imports also sells the keyed style gear set, part# 211311082K
