Rear Wide-5 Disc Brake Kit with e-Brake, Zero Offset, VW Pattern – 5 x 205mm, fits 1973-1979 Bug, Ghia, Super Beetle, and Thing. Sold as a kit.
An air-cooled VW industry first offered exclusively from AC Industries at an incredibly affordable price! The first 100% bolt-on wide-5-lug rear disc brake kit was developed to give the vintage enthusiast a heavy-duty disc brake system that would put up with real world use dished out by the rigors of daily driving and/or big motor punishment. As an added bonus, this kit will not affect the stock wheel location, so wheel clearance problems are not an issue. If your wheels fit a drum brake setup with no problems, they will fit this disc brake kit. Fits ’73 and later vehicles with IRS. Please see the fitment note below about the use of this kit on a Thing.
Fitment Note: When installing this kit on a Thing, the rotors in this kit are approximately 1” narrower than the Thing rear brake drums. Therefore, installing this kit will move the wheels approximately inward 1”. This helps if you are installing wider wheels on your Thing!

Important: This disc kit requires 15” or larger wheels. The stock Thing 14” wheels will not work!
