Description
This is one of the newest of the No Hassle disc brake kits from AC Industries! AC Industries was the first to design and produce the truly bolt on No Hassle kit back 18 years ago. This is the 2nd generation of No Hassle wide 5 disc brake kits and it is lighter and easier to install. This kit has the 5 x 205mm lug pattern rotors and bolts right on to the stock drum spindles. This kit will fit 1966 Bug and Karmann Ghia’s ball joint style front suspensions. This kit will also work great on fiberglass body buggies and replica cars with the same suspensions. The beauty of the AC Industries No Hassle kit is that it converts a drum brake front end to disc brakes without changing the spindles. The conversion can be done with basic hand tools, will take less time to install and you don’t need to re-align the car when you are finished!
The kit includes:
• (2) front rotors
• (2) floating calipers
• (1) set of premium semi-metallic brake pads #D391
• (1) pair drum spindle adapter brackets
• (2) stainless steel DOT brake hoses with 90º fittings
• Bearings and seals*
• All mounting hardware
• Step by step instructions
*We can install the wheel bearing races for a small additional fee: #IRACE
Fitment Note: On a 1966 Bug or Ghia, you will need to update the master cylinder on the car to a 1967 and later dual circuit master cylinder. Please see below for master cylinder kit recommendations.
Master Cylinder Kits Including Reservoir are Sold Separately:
Dual Circuit Master Cylinder with Reservoir for Front Disc & Rear Drum: 113698015K

Installation Note:
- Requires 15″ wheels or larger. This kit will not work with 14″ wheels.
- As stated above, this kit WILL NOT work with lowered spindles.
- The 1966 Bug and Karmann Ghia use longer brake hoses (17.75″/450mm) than our 498540, (1967-1968) kit. Please make sure you are ordering the correct kit.
