69 Bug early model steering column conversion

Hi Andy, I have a 1969 Bug with the ignition key on the column, and I want to move the key to the hole by the ash tray. What year steering column can I use and still be able to use the blinker lever. Parts list?

Hi Tim,
You will not find a column where there isn’t an ignition switch in the column and you can use your current 1969 turn switch. There is a chance to use a 1961 to 1967 Bug column and adapt it into your 1969 body, but you would need to use a 1966 to 1967 turn switch. I suggest this year turn switch due to the wiring is the most like your 1969 switch.
