Disc Brake Kit Fitment

I have a Baja Bug with VW Thing trailing arms and spindles on the front end. I want to convert the front brakes to disc brakes and I was wondering if you could tell me if kit part #498492 will fit on the Thing spindles? The brakes that are on the car right now are the OE ’70 Bug drum brakes.

Hi Mike,

Thanks for the question. Yes the #498492 kit will work for your application with VW Thing front spindles. On our web site it does also show in the vehicle fitment. Since you’re going to have it all apart, I’d suggest purchasing the bearing kit #498490L to get it all freshened up at same time.
